Prompt workflow design · v2.3

Stop writing prompts. Start building prompt systems.

A practical ebook for developers, founders, consultants, and AI-heavy operators who want reusable workflows, cleaner outputs, better delegation, and fewer wasted chats.

Practical and tactical Real-world examples Works with any model

Includes prompt contracts, reusable templates, output shapes, review gates, model delegation, context packing, operating loops, workflow recipes, before/after examples, and versioned prompts.

The method

This book gives you an operating system for better AI work.

Prompt Operations Manual teaches you how to think about prompts as structured work instructions — not magic phrases. You'll learn to define the job, the inputs, the constraints, the judgment criteria, and the shape of the answer before you ask for output.

The result: prompts that travel across models, teammates, and projects without losing quality. Less time fixing. More time shipping.

Context Gather the right inputs and constraints.
Instruction Give clear, unambiguous direction.
Constraints Set rules, limits, and non-negotiables.
Output Contract Define structure, format, and quality bar.
Review Evaluate, refine, and improve together.
Reuse Save, adapt, and apply across future work.
The problem

Most AI workflows fall apart for the same reason.

Prompts are treated as throwaway magic phrases instead of work instructions. Once you treat them as work, the same four problems disappear.

Prompts are scattered

Every useful prompt lives in a different chat, note, or screenshot. You rebuild the same logic from memory every time.

Outputs are inconsistent

The model is not the variable — the lack of a contract is. Without a defined output shape, you get noise back.

Delegation is messy

You spend more time fixing what the model produced than the model spent generating it. Handoffs have no spec.

Templates alone aren't enough

Swapping variables into a generic template doesn't fix weak logic. You inherit the original author's missing context.

The operating loop

Seven steps. One repeatable loop.

The loop is the spine of the manual. Every chapter is a deep dive on one step. Run it once and you have a prompt. Run it ten times and you have an operating system.

01

Context

Gather inputs and constraints.

02

Task

Give the model clear work to do.

03

Contract

Lock output shape and quality.

04

Route

Send to the right model or agent.

05

Output

Generate against the contract.

06

Verify

Check against review gates.

07

Reuse

Save as a versioned template.

After 07 return to 01 with the saved template. The loop never starts from scratch.

What you'll learn

Built for repeatable AI work.

Eight lessons that turn ad-hoc prompting into a discipline. Each lesson is short, example-led, and ends with a reusable artifact.

01

Prompt Architecture

Structure prompts that scale and survive real-world use across models and teammates.

02

Context Packing

Give models what they need — nothing extra, nothing missing.

03

Output Contracts

Lock in format, quality, and evaluation criteria up front.

04

Before / After Prompting

See real transformations from weak to high-performing.

05

Review Loops

Build feedback into the workflow to improve outcomes.

06

Model Delegation

Assign the right task to the right model or tool.

07

Workflow Templates

Reusable patterns for common high-leverage tasks.

08

Operating Practices

Habits and systems that make AI work repeatable.

Strong outputs start with strong instructions. Define the goal, the audience, the constraints, the format, and the success criteria. Then ask for the output. That's it. Do that well enough, and 80% of the work is already done.

Who it's for

Built for people who use AI as part of real work.

Developers

Integrate prompts into internal tools, CI, and product surfaces without rewriting them every release.

Founders

Ship AI features from a small team with prompts that don't break the moment a model gets bumped.

Consultants

Deliver documented, client-reusable AI processes instead of one-off chat transcripts.

Marketers / Creators

Scale content without losing brand voice — output contracts encode the voice once.

Yes — but it's written for working operators, not tourists. If you've used an LLM for real work and hit the wall of inconsistency, this is the manual that gets you over it. The first chapter resets how you think about prompts; the rest builds the system on top.
